Navigating the grocery store for low-salt options can be overwhelming, especially with the significant differences in sodium content across brands. For example, some pasta sauces can have as much as 850mg, others are in the 300mg range, and no-salt-added sauces have less than 50mg.

Other products that are relatively low in sodium, like sour cream, have anywhere from 10mg-45mg in a 2 tablespoon serving. It may not sound like much, but if your recipe uses 1/2 cup, that amounts to 40mg – 180mg depending on the brand… and that’s a big difference!
